Tiny, this was what Nancy Judson, a co-sufferer, wrote when she learned about the passing of Harriett Newell, your 19th century carbon-copy. Nancy wrote my feelings exactly so I needn’t compose them anew. She wrote: “O death, you destroyer of domestic felicitation, could not this wide world afford victims sufficient to satisfy your cravings without entering the family of a solitary few whose comfort and happiness depends much on the society of each other? But you have only executed the commission of a Higher Order. You have come, clothe in your usual garb, you were sent by a kind Father to release His child from toil and pain. Be still and know that God has done it." Through it all, may the Lord be praised. Amen.
